Founder and Managing Director

Brian was educated at Newcastle Royal Grammar School (1936–43), joined the Royal Artillery in 1943. He left the army in 1947 and read BA (Hons) German at King’s College, University of Durham.  He received an offer from ICI (India) Limited in 1951 and retired in 1975 as Board Member of ICI (India) and Managing Director of subsidiary CAFI Ltd.

Brian moved his family to Muscat in 1975 and formed Muna Noor Incorporated – later renamed Muna Noor International – a diversified, multi-discipline company.  He pioneered pest control and plastic pipe and explosives manufacture in Oman, and was the Oman representative of the British Consortium, which supplied and commissioned all the equipment of the Sultan Qaboos University in 1983–85.


Hemant gained his BE (Hons) Mechanical from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in 1977. He continued his studies at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, finishing his MBA in 1979, specialising in Marketing and Finance.

Hemant started working with Special Steels Ltd, Mumbai, India – a Shapoorji Pallonji venture – in 1979. After  three years he ventured out in Dubai, UAE with Al Shirawi Equipment LLC – part of the well-known Valrani Group – where he stayed for two years. He came to Muscat in 1984 and was with the same company until 2013.

Business International Group was bought by Zubair Corporation in 1991 and, with the financial backing, the company diversified its activities in the core sectors of Oman’s economy – Education, Health, Oil and Gas, Water Resources etc.
Bringing 29 years of experience in Oman in diversified fields, Hemant joined Muna Noor in December 2013.


Devendra Tripathi gained his BSc from the University of Allahabad in 1952 and joined Imperial Chemical Industries (India) Ltd the same year. He was with this company for the next 33 years, the last ten of which he was a member of the Board of Directors and concurrently Managing Director of two of its subsidiary companies.
On retirement from ICI India in 1985, Devendra joined Muna Noor Incorporated and headed, at different times, various commercial and industrial activities of the group. He retired from regular employment with the company in 2010.

Financial Controler

Balaji has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) since 1996 and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) since 200. He joined Tata British Petroleum (a Joint venture between Tata Power and British Petroleum) in 1996. He was with this company for the next 15 years, the last two of which as DGM Finance, Taxation and Company Secretary.
In 2010, Balaji joined Muna Noor International  as Senior Manager – Finance for the group companies.

General Manager - HR and Admin

Waheed has a Diploma in Administration. His experience before joining MNI includes working with private companies in different fields such as oil, manufacturing, contracting and tourism. He joined MNI in 2010 and is currently General Manager of Admin and Human Resources.
